A leading NYC non-profit that has been recognized for its commitment to the success of young people and families, is currently seeking an Activity Instructor (STEM) for our MS 442 program located in Brooklyn. The Activity Instructor- STEM Specialist, will be instrumental in helping programs implement the Billion Oyster Project curriculum in partnership with mentors from the Academy of Science. In addition, they will create, implement and support the implementation of other STEM activities for groups that are not participating in the BOP curriculum, strengthening the delivery of STEM experiential workshops for elementary and middle school participants. Instructor will be part of the larger site staff team, utilizing best practices in youth and family development within the STEM instruction.
·    Partner with Academy of Science mentors to facilitate and integrate BOP curriculum to middle school participants within summer camp and after school.
·   Responsible for facilitating and assisting Group Leaders with the implementation of all STEM activities.
·    Work closely with the Education Specialist to develop, monitor and implement STEM lesson plans in alignment with DYCD COMPASS goals and common core standards.
·    Attend cluster group leader meetings with Educational Specialist.
·    Attend training on STEM curricula and follow up with utilization of technical assistance.
·    Work along with the Literacy teacher and assist in coordinating educational projects for the program.
·    Assist the Program Director with reporting and tracking all STEM activities.
·    Perform other duties as assigned.
