Job Description:
Good Shepherd Services, a leading NYC non-profit committed to the success of young people and families, is currently seeking an Advocate Counselor, for our Community School at Boys & Girls High School Program in Brooklyn.
The Advocate Counselor works with youth and their families in a collaborative effort between Good Shepherd Services (GSS) and the Department of Education (DOE). The Advocate Counselor utilizes a youth development model that actively engages young people and supports academic success through individual and group counseling and related activities.

Required Skills/Experience:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
- Must have experience working with young adults, individually and in groups.
- Prior experience in school setting preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective.
