We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate Assistant Site Coordinator to work with us. The Cornerstone is a community center in a public housing development, with after school, evening and weekend programming for all ages. The Assistant Site Coordinator helps manage the daily operations, planning and scheduling for the Cornerstone evening and weekend programming and is responsible for creating a community center that is inclusive, welcoming and responsive to the needs of the community by ensuring a continuum of services and youth development programming for families and youth of Red Hook. The Assistant Site Coordinator is responsible for supervision of evening and weekend staff and interns and assisting in overall program development. REPORTS TO: PROGRAM DIRECTOR, MICCIO CORNERSTONE COMMUNITY CENTER LOCATION: 110 West 9th Street, Brooklyn, New York 11231 HOURS: 18 Hours/Week; Non-Exempt MAJOR DUTIES: Assist in the planning and coordination of evenings, Saturday and Sunday programming. Assist in the planning, coordination and of YMI Mentoring Program. Assist in the coordination and day to day management of evenings, Saturday and Sunday program. Supervision of all evening and weekend group leaders, activity specialist, part-time program aids and interns. Coordinate recruit and outreach of Cornerstone participants. Assist in registration and oversight of summer jobs programs: SYEP, ETC. Providing on-site crisis intervention when the program is in operation. Ensure the smooth operation of the program within the building including responding to specific maintenance and security concerns. Monitor and inventory the use of equipment and supplies to ensure the equipment is repaired when necessary and that adequate supplies are maintained. Attend agency wide trainings and meetings. Assist in the facilitation of program activities and special events. Assist in staff in the facilitation of ongoing staff meetings. Attend community advisory board meetings. Available to supervise weekend programming. In consultation with Program Director participate in the hiring of staff members. Assist in Oversight of ongoing work with DYCD, DOH, and NYCHA Assist in coordination and collection & summary of statistical information. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: HS Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience in youth program supervision and administration. Strong administrative & supervisory skills in a youth development program. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Must be able to engage in crisis intervention activities and demonstrate, lead, and teach a range of group activities. Must be available for weekend training requirements. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective.
