Job Description:

Good Shepherd Services, a leading NYC non-profit committed to the success of young people and families, is currently seeking an Assistant Site Coordinator, for our Neighborhood Development Area Program in Brooklyn.

The Assistant Site Coordinator is responsible for the development and management of
daily contractual requirements regarding summer camp, evening, and Saturday programming within the Neighborhood Development Area program.

MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Oversee the daily operation of afterschool programming.
  • Attend all staff meetings and required professional development activities.
  • Responsible for the management and security of programming.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of programming for middle school youth focusing on academic achievement.
  • Develop Academic Enrichment & Leadership and Life Skills Building activities.
  • Track and input student records and attendance in the NDA Capricorn database.
  • Coordinate and plan program activities and culminating events.
  • Schedule and participate in parent involvement activities.
  • Network and outreach to community organizations to provide services and information to program participants
  • Facilitate staff meetings.
  • Help to create an environment of accountability, safety, and responsibility amongst participants through the effective administration of Good Shepherd Services' programs.
  • Provide overall leadership and administration of Good Shepherd Programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree required.
  • At least 2 years of significant equivalent experience working with at-risk/underserved youth
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective.
