Job Description:

We are the Graduate.Prepare.Succeed. (GPS) program at the High School of Graphic Communication Arts located at 439 West 49th. Street in Manhattan. We are an attendance improvement and drop out prevention program. Our aim is to motivate students to excel academically and reduce drop out rates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create a performance to showcase at the end of the school year

• Provide a daily lesson plan

• Incorporate literacy skills

• Provide insight on skills necessary to attain employment in the performance industry with an emphasis on both on and behind the scene positions

• Offer incentives for students to attend regularly

• Take students on class related trips

Required Skills/Experience:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• D.O.E. certified teacher with a background in drama and/or theatrical art.

• The class will be offered Tuesdays & Thursdays from 2:45 to 4:00 p.m. The class will run from January 31 to June 20.

 

 

* Salary: $42/hour
