Job Description:

Good Shepherd Services, a leading NYC non-profit committed to the success of young people and families, is currently seeking a Group Leader, for our After-School Program at Spring Creek Community School/Academy for Young Writers Program in Brooklyn.

The Group Leader engages participants in Good Shepherd Services' after school program, facilitates purposeful activities during community hour and supports instructors with their class facilitation.

Required Skills/Experience:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree in a child welfare or related field OR High School/ GED Diploma and 2 years related experience in youth development programs required.
  • Must be able to engage young people and set structure and limits in a group setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work Saturdays and evenings.
  • Able to lead and participate in group activities.
  • A commitment to working with youth from a variety of backgrounds, while providing high quality services.
  • Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based, youth and family development and trauma-informed perspective.
