Each year, Safe Space works with over 10,000 of New York City's most disadvantaged children and families to prevent foster care placement, support and strengthen families and promote self-sufficiency.
The mental health needs in the communities we serve are as varied as the individuals that make up our communities. As such, Safe Space provides various services to meet the needs of our communities.
Our Mental Health division operates two traditional Mental Health Clinics - one in Jamaica, NY and one in Far Rockaway, NY. Our clinic in Far Rockaway is looking to hire a Nurse Practitioner to work 4 (four) hours a week.
Position Summary
Handle ongoing medical management of patients. Prescribe and dispense medications and maintain injectable medications on-site. Conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat common illnesses and injuries, and provide immunizations. Also monitor high blood pressure, diabetes, and other chronic problems. Order and interpret X-rays and other lab tests. Provide patients consultation on healthy lifestyles. Manage client charts and documentation.

Required Skills/Experience:
Master of Science in Nursing required.
Must have clearance with New York State as well as the federal Drug Enforcement Agency to prescribe medications.
Five years experience post- Master’s degree. Experience working with children preferred.
