Job Description:
The Facilitator is responsible for developing and implementing projects in the areas of Youth Leadership, Health, Youth Development, Career Development, and Recreational Activities. This role is one of facilitator, youth care worker, leader and model. It is essential that the Facilitator enjoys working with youth, respects them as people, and seeks to include them in fun activities that are positive. We are looking for Facilitator(s) with the ability to create youth led projects focusing on social and community concerns (this entails designing, planning and leading the implementation of special projects with our participants). Provide strong classroom and behavioral managment skills while teaching our teens to make positive choices in their lives. Implement professionally developed service learning curriculum and work on developing relationships with our participants and their families.
The Facilitator is expected to be punctual, responsible, have a positive attitude, and provide encouragement to youth. They are to teach, supervise, and organize community service projects. Assist in activities and tasks necessary to ensure smooth operation of the Teens in Action program: supervise youth during program hours, attend regular staff meetings and trainings and work cooperatively with other staff members in the program.
Required Skills/Experience:
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree
Must have at least a year working with high-risk youth
Field of study in Education or Social Work
