SEEKS PART TIME LEARNING COACHES
Harlem RBI, an award winning youth development and education program, is seeking dynamic individuals to serve as Learning Coaches. The REAL Kids program offers a unique and supportive environment for elementary aged youth, focused on enhancing interest in and appreciation for reading and learning while improving life skills in nutrition and fitness, critical thinking and communication, teambuilding and leadership. Learning Coaches work collaboratively with Teachers, Specialists and Campus Managers to facilitate engaging workshops and activities in a fun but well structured after school environment.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
· Lead and supervise a team of 18 elementary aged youth in a variety of engaging academic, physical, enrichment and teambuilding activities
· Supervise and monitor behavior at all gatherings and events
· Assist the Workshop Teacher with the implementation of activities in reading and math
· Co-plan and co-facilitate weekly teambuilding lessons during Clubhouse
· Develop and enforce team norms with youth that encourage an inclusive environment for all youth as well as utilize the REAL Kids Behavior Management system to encourage positive and safe behavior at all times
· Co-facilitate activities (including Coach-Led “Electives”), model enthusiasm and actively supervise youth when activities are led by specialists in baseball, nutrition and arts
· Uphold and model Harlem RBI values and youth development principles for all youth and colleagues
· Maintain appropriate professional boundaries as outlined in the Harlem RBI Policies for Working with Youth
· Model professionalism through consistent attendance, timeliness and preparation
Hours
The program will operate from the beginning of October until the beginning of June. Eligible candidates must be available for 3.5 program hours, Monday-Friday and during staff strategic meetings held one evening, weekly. Each 20 hour work week consists of:
- Five 3.5 hour teaching and direct service days (2-5:30pm or 3-6:30pm depending on site), Monday-Friday
- One 60-90 minute strategic meeting weekly (schedule is TBD)
- One hour of professional development and planning weekly (schedule is TBD)
All candidates must be able to participate in a group interview between September 14th and 21st as well as Harlem RBI’s training from October 3rd-7th.
Compensation
This is a part time position and offers a competitive hourly rate.
