Job Description:

(Temporary Position, 4-6 months starting Mid-May 2018) Salary: $18.00 per hour, 35 hours a week. Position Overview Sunnyside Community Services is seeking a Program Assistant to help provide support our growing Youth and Family Services department. Our Youth and Family Services includes a pre-kindergarten program, after-school programs for elementary and middle school students, high school programing focusing afterschool enrichment, college and careers, and Adult and Immigrant Services. The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrative professional with knowledge of youth development and experience with program recruitment and retention. This position will report directly to the Assistant Executive Director of Youth and Family Services. Position Responsibilities • Administrative tasks in support of the department such as phone calls, filing, emails, reports and presentations, tracking of purchases and general office maintenance. • Understand the mission of the organization and department and have the ability professionally and effectively represent it verbally and in written form. • Support communications with outside stakeholders. • Support programs in their outreach efforts. • Assist with the coordination of special events, outreach initiatives and meetings. • Work with development department to create outreach materials such as flyers, posters, as well as keeping social media efforts up to date. • Assist with program compliance and operations by assisting with the input and maintenance of data and assistance with background checks. Requirements: • Bachelor degree in a related field preferred. Some college required. • Proven experience supporting programs both administratively and with outreach. • Proven proficiency with entering data and working with databases. • Experience with programs that serve youth and families preferred. • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office. • Bilingual in Spanish desired.
