Program Director - Full Time
Minimum Education:
MA preferred in Education, Arts, or related field
Job Description:
Specific duties include:
o Oversee all program logistics, including all administrative and budget functions
o Recruit, retain and manage CAW teaching artists, professional guests and interns
o Manage relationships with schools and community partners and communicate with funders to create, plan and implement programs
o Develop and document curricula in partnership with teaching artists and partner/sponsor organizations, including New York City schools
o Deepen CAW’s relationships with schools and community partners and help drive external affairs
o Oversee and develop program evaluations to develop critical tangible metrics
o Educate and provide supporting professional development to staff on ‘best practices’ to ensure teaching effectiveness and artistic integrity
o Coordinate public relations and marketing, including the creation of promotional materials and expand on-line presence
o Develop new opportunities to expand programming into other strategic venues
o Work closely with full-time Executive Director on the strategic goals and mission and day-to-day operations of organization

Required Skills/Experience:
MA preferred in Education, Arts or related field; minimum 3-5 years working in arts administration, schools or similar nonprofit setting; strong leadership and management experience; motivate staff and partners, and effectively manage a variety of tasks and priorities in leanly-staffed, fast-paced, and demanding creative nonprofit environment. Experience training and/or mentoring adults and youth, and demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations. Superior communication skills are essential, computer and web literacy a must; bilingual in Spanish a plus; background check and fingerprinting with Department of Education will be required.
Start Date: Available immediately to Spring 2011 commencement, (with some flexibility)
