Job Description:

 

 

 

 

 

BBBS NYC seeks articulate & creative BA/BS to work w/adolescents & corporate volunteers. Duties include presentations at major companies, coordinating/facilitating after school mentoring programs & summer activities program for teens. Scheduling interviews, trips & other administrative duties. Midtown office location. Excellent presentation skills required. Must be an organized, efficient, outgoing, energetic, self starter.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Run youth teen workshop program

• Develop and facilitate summer activity program for students

• Serve as initial contact person for all online recruitment

• Conduct recruitment efforts at companies (eg: tabling; fairs, orientations)

• Act as substitute when program manager is out sick

• Make phone calls to Littles re: reminder of program

• Administrative duties: photocopying and mailings

• Scheduling interviews; rooms for interviews

• Scheduling and making reservations for trips

• Manage Step4Ward program including interviews and assessments of students, coordinates program with company partners

• Manage “One Shot Deals” program; work with companies to design a one time program with a group of students in the program

• Manage scholarship programs – recruitment, awareness

• Design T-shirts and flyers
 

• Serve on 2 Resource Teams
 

• Kick-off support (match games, name tags, PM duties for large KO’s , T-Shirt packages)

• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Experience:

REPORTS TO: Director of the Workplace Mentoring Center

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree (preferably BSW)

Experience: Strong writing and computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience working with youth

Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage programs effectively. Organization, time management and public speaking skills. Professional and Creative
