Job Description:
Responsibilities include:
- Provide individual and group tutoring in areas such as reading, writing, mathematics, and study skills to students in an elementary school after-school based program.
- Provide strong classroom and behavioral management skills.
- Implement professionally developed literacy-based curriculum.
- Work to develop relationships with children and their families.
- Design, plan, and lead implementation of special projects.
- Be punctual, responsible, positive in attitude, and provide encouragement to all children.
- Teach, supervise, and organize games.
- Assisting in any activities needed for the orderly operation of the program: supervising children. during supper, ensuring equipment is properly signed out and that all equipment is properly cleaned and returned.
- Attend regular staff meetings and trainings and work cooperatively with other staff members in the program.
- Work closely with all staff members in a team-based setting.
- Attend and supervise children during special projects and field trips (including some weekends and evenings).
Required Skills/Experience:
Experience working with children/youth in an after-school, day camp or day care setting.
